Living The Oats Life
Oats at Work
One of the biggest problems I have in the morning is finding time to eat properly.
My time’s split between workouts, fighting the traffic jam, and just rolling out of bed. I know it takes less than 5 minutes to make a good oat breakfast, but eating it takes slightly longer, so when I found this tip online I knew I just had to try it!
Ingredients:
2 2/3 cups Quaker
Instant Oatmeal
4 cups water
Large pinch salt
Large pinch salt

- Bring the oats, water and salt to a boil. Simmer for about 2 minutes then turn off the heat.
- Ladle the cooked oats into containers of your choice. I tend to put them into microwaveable safe containers so it’s easy to grab and go. I don’t cover them completely in the beginning though; I leave them uncovered for a few hours to cool down before I throw them into the fridge. This gives a slightly thicker texture to my oats.
- Grab a container the next morning and throw in any additional flavours if you want before heading to work.
- In the office, I give the oats a final mix before reheating in the office and eat! Makes for a quick, easy breakfast in front of the computer.
